The Severn Jazzmen are a four – seven piece Dixieland Jazz Band performing a delightful mix of Trad Jazz classics. It’s carnival music that provides the perfect bac drop for a wedding drinks reception.

From the opening chord, The Severn Jazzmen create the perfect party feel. Trumpet, trombone and clarinet interweave on the topline in cheerful conversation, with an occasional verse of vocals thrown in for good measure. In the accompanying harmony and rhythm section, cheeky banjo and chunky keyboard are ably supported by stomping double-bass and drums, filling out the texture and keeping the sound fairly bouncing along.
Look forward to an easy-listening performance that presents an excellent backdrop for a Sunday jazz brunch, a birthday bash or an anniversary celebration, a barbecue, a garden party or a wedding reception. The band carry a PA system, but often perform acoustically, sometimes outside. An acoustic quartet is available for outdoor events.

Karen’s Wedding in Monmouth: April 2017 –
The Severn Jazzmen were excellent. I wanted specifically New Orleans Jazz at my wedding for the evening reception instead of the ubiquitous disco and they were perfect. The music created a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I do hope there was enough food for the band as I booked for 4 musicians and provided enough food for 4 as per the contract, but 5 musicians turned up on the day, which I was not expecting. Jane & Danny Hill’s Wedding: June 2016 –
The wedding ceremony took place at The Temple of Minerva in the Botanical Gardens, Victoria Park Bath and The Severn Jazzmen were ready to strike up as the ceremony finished. They lead the guests from the Temple to the Marquee and then provided background music either during the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast.
