The Two Of Us

The Two Of Us hit all the right buttons when it comes to good ol’-fashioned romance – picture a candle-lit dinner with champagne, the table adorned by a single red rose in a long-stemmed glass. Every day can be your very own St Valentine’s, to the gentle, soothing accompaniment of these stylish and elegant duet singers, harmonising prettily, echoing each nuance, perfectly rounding off every cadence as if one voice.

“Romantic duets selected from the best vintage classics, a diamond duo for all intimate occasions.”

Performing either as a duo with pre-recorded backing tracks or accompanied by a live swing jazz ensemble, The Two Of Us will deliver an elegant and sophisticated presentation of the very best in romantic song from the modern age. The full band comprises keyboards, guitar, bass and drums, but a smaller instrumental group to give a trio, quartet or quintet performance can also be arranged if required.

Enthusiasts for musical nostalgia, as a respectful homage to sheer quality The Two Of Us perform many of the favourite Golden Oldies from the Broadway Shows and Hollywood Hits of the ‘40s and ‘50s. These timeless classics are freely interspersed with well-chosen examples from a variety of widely-recognised and popular genres including swing jazz, Latin-American and rock’n’roll.

Central to their performance, the duo’s vocals are a testament to thorough musicianship, and are nicely balanced and well-presented. Damian’s agile tenor blends superbly with Rachel’s supple mezzo tones, sometimes in unison or in octaves, at other times in well-judged and effective harmony. On solo items, they share the lead depending on the song, alternating on boy/girl duets.
