With a voice that can be as bright and clear as a bell, yet is also liberally equipped with rich, sultry lower resonances, Kai gives you her own original take on a sparkling selection of those well-known classics from the iconic silver-screen Swing Jazz era of Broadway and Hollywood.
The Quartet’s repertoire extends further through Latin Jazz, Blues, Jump Jive, Soul and Motown. It’s all delivered with Kai’s own unique twist. Listen out for tight arrangements and perfect phrasing from the ensemble of piano, double-bass and drumkit that completes The Kai Hoffman Jazz Quartet. It’s little wonder that these experienced, talented guys have rapidly become familiar, well-respected faces on the UK jazz circuit.
The line-up is flexible. For more intimate settings, a piano and vocals duo may be appropriate. However, if dancing is part of the remit, the full quartet with bass and drums fits the bill. For a 1920s-themed evening, Kai presents a special set of Roaring Twenties favourites, performed in period costume, once again either as a compact duo with piano or with the full ensemble. Whatever the occasion and whatever their chosen line-up, the band can supply a top-quality PA system which is fully adaptable to reproduce an excellent sound in venues of any type and size.
